David!!

Sometimes you get so worried about 1 thing that you kind of push other important things to the back ground. I am going to try to repent of that. David has been doing awesome lately. He is going to Utah Valley University in Orem studying aviation science. He is planning on becoming a pilot. He hopes to do a solo flight in 2-3 weeks and get a private pilots license at the end of the semester. He seems to really enjoy it. He is also working, so he is one busy kid right now. I'd much rather see this than him just hanging out. He is a great kid and I am very proud of him.

Just a little note. I wanted to let everyone know that Matt is staying with Mike and Chalece in Arizona for awhile. He just needed to get away from Utah and they let him go there. He is hoping to get a job and then see what happens. He will probably stay there until after Halloween.

Congratulations to Troy!! Getting his Eagle. We would be there to see it if we weren't so far away. I'm excited for him. and for his parents. That is wonderful! I hope to see some pictures and news on our blog.

Cool Vickie! It is exciting to see all this on our family blog.

I am desperately searching for our camera so I can put some pictures up. Wish me luck!

Gwen
I needed to experiment some with the pictures, so I added a few more. I hope you don't mind. These are more pictures of our camping/4wheeling trip.
We were told we would see some wildlife on the trail. I guess we didn't get up early enough for the real wildlife, so this is what we saw. We saw about 3 or 4 cows on the trail. I also saw a few little critters running around.

Maybe in this picture you can see the branch in the tire better. In the background is a camp sign, and just below that is a branch sticking out of the tire.

I wanted to show this one bigger because it is the only way you can see the volcanoe in the background. You can just barely see it at that. It is in the middle of the picture between the sky and the green bushes.

Here are some views of Kanosh from the ATV trail Reg and I took. You just can't see this from a regular road. It was pretty.

The Stumpe's went 4 wheeling!!

Last week, I told you we had a fun activity last weekend. Well, I'm trying to put some pictures up to let you know what we did. We rented 4 4wheelers and went 4 wheeling. We had a blast. We went down to Kanosh, by Fillmore Utah, where they have some good ATV trails. Reg and I, Mike and Chalece and Jaylee spent the night, but the others came up later. We all agreed we'll have to do it again sometime.

This is one of my favorite pictures. Matt, David, Mike, and Allan are ready to go. Scott, Jen and Danny did not make it because of a silly miscommunication problem with their mom. I really missed them.

I am glad Allan had a helmet on. He rolled his machine and hit his head on a rock or something. There was a mark on his helmet where he hit. He also did a lot of damage to his machine and scraped himself up good. He's lucky he didn't get hurt worse.

If you look really close at this picture you can see a branch in the tire. Matt ran into a tree and somehow got a branch in the tire.

I wish you could see how dirty we really were after riding. These pictures do not do us justice. The scenery, however, was beautiful. Behind Reg is a volcano. It was pretty impressive when looking at it with your own eyes.

Mike, Chalece and Jaylee went for a little ride, but it was kind of long for Jaylee. I think she enjoyed it for a while, but then got tired of the wind and dust. They came back, and Mike and Chalece went again later without Jaylee.

Jaylee had a great time by the fire, but she got pretty tired. She had a nice place in the tent the next day to fall asleep so her mom and dad could go riding without her for a while.

Frost Family Reunion

We had a good family reunion a couple of weeks ago. We missed those of you who didn't make it. It seems like there are a lot of things trying for our attention and we can't do everything. I understand Bailey made her volleyball team, though. Congratulations! We need an update! and pictures!
I took a couple of pictures at the reunion, but it was with Mom's camera and her computer wasn't working, so I'll have to try and get them later. Rick took some pictures and said he would get them on. I hope he can get on without too much problem to do that.
School has started here, has been going for 2 weeks now. I am an aide at a different school this year, basically doing the same thing. I don't know if I will ever have my own classroom. I think sometimes I can help more kids when I can help them individually. I don't get as much money, though. I enjoy it. I like the kids.
Matt decided to go back to high school. He wanted the high school experience. Although he said he was beginning to have second thoughts. He is committed, though, so I think he will finish. He better. David is going to Utah Valley University, formally UVSC. He is going to train to be a pilot. He has a lot of hard work ahead of him, but he seems to be excited, except for the math classes he needs to take. He has come a long way the last couple of years and I'm excited for him.
Mike and Chalece have been up here for the last 3 weeks. He is doing a pharmacy rotation in a hospital up here. It has been good to see them and Jaylee. I babysat Jaylee the other night, but she cried nearly the whole time. She doesn't see me enough, I guess. Scott and Jen seem to be doing OK. Allan is starting school this week. Hopefully, he will finish up in the next couple of years. He just got a job at REI, which should help him with school.
Other than that, not a lot is happening. We did have a little outing last weekend, but I'll have to tell you about that when I can get some pictures up. Hopefully in the next couple of days.

A New Week

Well, I don't have a lot to say, and especially no pictures this week. We're not a very exciting family. Reg does get to go river running this week with the scouts and I will be here by myself pretty much, except for David, Matt and Danny who are always running in and out anyway, and not home much. So, hopefully, I'll get things done. Maybe next week, we can show some pictures of Reg's trip.
I have been feeling rather down lately and I need people to sign in to this blog and make some posts. We have a good start, but it will not be successful until we hear from everybody at least 2-3x. So get busy! I love all you guys. Hope to see you all at the family reunion next month, August 16.

Oh, it did work. Silly me. Gwen
O.K. I tried and it kind of worked. Except that I got Jocie twice and none of Troy, which I thought I did 3 times. Maybe, I will troy later.

Jocie at the Cabin--golfing

Posted by Picasa
Hey Goodfellow Clan, I am excited to see this up and running again. Let's all keep it going. Summer is way too short here in Soda Springs. We have been busy and enjoying every minute of Summer. Jocie is the Cardette Drill Mistress this year and way motivated. They practiced in June a lot so they could perform in the Fourth of July parade. She convinced Troy to be the "Drummer". He was excited and practiced early mornings with the girls. Of course, mom got the "driver" job and Randy got the photographer job. All in all, it was pretty successful. Troy has been working hard at getting his Eagle Rank. He made 8 bat houses for the Forest Service and installed them in the forest. I will have to figure out how to post some pictures. Jocie is seriously into golf. She is taking lessons and golfing about 18 holes a day, at least. I love that she is so motivated and hope she can get a scholarship out of the deal. I have just been busy with my jobs and watering all neighbors yards. Randy and Gwen have golfed a little. Randy is fishing quite a bit. We have been on a few motorcycle rides and to Bear Lake a few times. Randy and Troy are getting ready to go to a High Adventure Scout camp. It is in the backcountry of Yellowstone on Shoshone Lake. It sounds like a lot of fun, but mom doesn't get to go. Wah! Well, tah tah for now, we will see if this works. Love, Gwen

An Invitation to join us

Well, I think I have this set up now so you can use this. I should get you all caught up on our family. I'm sure most of you already know anyway. Matt has finished his program, he cradled (graduated) Mar 4. He was working in South Jordan at McDonald's for a couple of months in transition, but now is working at Carl's Jr. in Orem. He is starting to train to be shift manager. He also graduated (at least he walked with his class) on May 20, but still needs a couple of classes to officially graduate. I'm not sure what he is going to do, because he isn't going to get done with his classes. Something went wrong there, but he will graduate. We kept housing boys for a while, but as of July 1, we haven't. We've been trying to stop since graduation, but they still needed us, so we kept it up. It was really wearing us down. We had to make a 50 mile round trip, sometimes twice a day, to pick them up or take them back and it was pretty tiring, not to mention the gas that was used. But at the same time, I really miss those guys. They were good kids (most of them) and they were fun to have around. It's nice to have my life and my house back again.
We have been busy this past month. We had to fix our bathroom downstairs. I decided we might as well paint the bathroom upstairs, too, so I did, and then I painted the bedroom the boys used. It was quite a project, but almost done. It feels good.
One of the last trips up to pick up the boys, I got into a car accident. I just got off the freeway, was stopped at a red light, the green arrow went on and I started to go, and someone came cruising through the intersection trying to make the yellow light. She missed the yellow light by a long shot but she got me good. Our Camry was totaled, but no one was hurt in the accident, which I am grateful for.
This post is not just for me. You will notice the blog is called the RICHARD GOODFELLOW FAMILY BLOG. That means everyone who is a descendent of Richard and Kathryn Goodfellow are welcome and encouraged to publish posts, pictures, etc. The purpose of this blog is so we can keep in touch and keep up with everyone's news. I want to see pictures of Shelly's grandkids. I want to know the accomplishments of Gwen's kids and Shane's kids. I want to know what Tori and Gunnar are doing. This can make a great family history for our grandkids and great grandkids if we let it. This blog really can't be successful without all of you participating. I don't have everyone's emails to add to the authors, but if you want to publish a new post, let me know and I will add your name. My email is vickiestumpe@comcast.net. I would like to see everyone of Mom & Dad's children represented here.
I love you all. Families are so important and I need everyone of you. I look forward to hearing from you.

New start

I am taking a blogging class that is being offered in Relief Society. So I am just using space right now to practice and figure this thing out. It is quite fun and I hope I can get this so other people can add to it when they want. This is just a picture of our walnut tree in the front yard.

This is David's new car. We are just doing samples in a class.
